Open Evening

Our annual Open Evening for prospective parents, carers and students will be held on Thursday 2nd October 2025.

This is a chance for prospective students to visit with their families, tour the school, meet staff and current students and get a taste of life at Woolmer Hill School.

Details of the event are below:

Date:	Thursday 2nd October 2025
Time:	16:30 - 19:00 (Please be aware that the event finishes at 19:00, and in order to fully explore what is on offer we recommend you allow at least an hour to tour the school, so please arrive in plenty of time)
Who can attend:	Anyone is welcome to attend, but this is of particular relevance to families who will be applying for secondary school places for September 2026 or 2027 (Year 5/6 students and their parents).
Headteacher's speech:	17:00 and repeated at 18:00 in the main Hall (seats need to be booked via Eventbrite - please use the link here)
Tours:	Available throughout the evening, you do not need to book a tour. Guests are also welcome to walk around the school without a tour guide.
Parking:	This event always generates a huge amount of interest in the local community. We ask that where possible you car share, or park and stride to the school. There will be car parking available in the car park at the front of the school, but this is limited.

Please note that the deadline to apply for a place for Year 7 in September 2026 is 31st October 2025.

24/06/2025Williams F1 Trip: Students and staff had an incredible time on a guided tour of the Williams Museum, home to all of the Williams F1 cars from the past 50 years. Students raced against each other in the Williams E-sports Lounge, competing on 4 different F1 tracks using the most up-to-date simulators. As part of a composite materials challenge, they engineered nose cones to protect their drivers, learning about 'crumpling' to absorb momentum before crash testing their designs. Williams staff were incredibly complimentary about our students, praising their politeness, enthusiasm for every task and excellent oracy skills. #ProudToAchieve #ProudToBelong

23/06/2025Woolmer Hill Pride event! On Friday, students and staff gathered in the sunshine on the school field to create a rainbow flag and collect money on behalf of @switchboardlgbt, the national support line for LGBTQIA+. #ProundToBelong

21/06/2025Woolmer Hill Musicians were delighted to go on tour, performing at Brownscombe Care Home and Chestnut View Care Home this week. Both students and staff thoroughly enjoyed sharing music with the residents, who welcomed us so warmly and even provided us with a much needed ice lolly stop! At Woolmer Hill, we are Proud to Belong, and Community is at the heart of everything we do. A huge thank you to Brownscombe and Chestnut View for having us and we look forward to visiting again soon. #ProudToBelong
