Uniform

A high standard of personal appearance is expected of all Woolmer Hill students.  We believe that our uniform plays a key role in:

  • promoting the ethos of our school
  • providing a sense of belonging and identity, “Proud to Belong”
  • setting an appropriate tone for education, “Proud to Achieve”

By creating a common identity amongst all students, regardless of background, a school uniform can act as a social leveller. It can reduce bullying and peer pressure to wear the latest fashions or other expensive clothes.

Our school has a duty to make sure that the uniform we require is affordable, in line with statutory guidance from the Department for Education (DfE) on the cost of school uniforms.

We understand that items with distinctive characteristics (such as branded items, or items that need to have a school logo attached or be in a unique fabric or style) cannot be purchased from a wide range of retailers, and that requiring many such items limits parents/carers’ ability to shop around for the best price.

From September 2026 our uniform is changing slightly to reduce the number of branded items, and therefore reduce the cost to parents.

FROM SEPTEMBER 2026

Please see below for our new uniform requirements for all new starters from September 2026. (Students who are already on roll at Woolmer Hill can continue to wear their full branded PE kit and uniform until such time as it may need replacing).

From September 2026 the requirements are below:
