Results Day 2024

YEAR 11 SCHOOL EMAIL ADDRESSES WILL REMAIN OPEN AND ACTIVE UNTIL FRIDAY 25TH OCTOBER 2024 TO ENABLE CLEAR PATHS OF COMMUNICATION REGARDING RESULTS.

GCSE results day this year is Thursday 22nd August 2024.   Results will be available for collection on Thursday 22nd August from 10am – 11am from the main school hall.  Members of staff will be on hand to provide support and guidance to students who require it and we encourage students to attend.

We hope that students will be able to come along and collect their results in person but we do understand that sometimes this is not possible.  If students are unable to come in to school on Results Day they can send a representative on their behalf to collect them or request that the results are emailed to them directly to their school email account. If you intend on opting for one of these methods the student must email the Exams Officer, Mrs Ravaux, fravaux@woolmerhill.surrey.sch.uk with their instructions by 12noon on Monday 15th July 2024.  We cannot guarantee a time for results to be released via email but it is likely that they will be sent after midday on the 22nd August.

We are unable to give results out by telephone under any circumstances and results cannot be passed to anyone other than the named student unless we have signed, written permission from the student.

Should you have any questions relating to your results or appeals please get in touch with Mrs Ravaux, our Exams Officer.

Post Results Services 2024

YEAR 11 SCHOOL EMAIL ADDRESSES WILL REMAIN OPEN AND ACTIVE UNTIL FRIDAY 25TH OCTOBER 2023 TO ENABLE CLEAR PATHS OF COMMUNICATION REGARDING RESULTS.

All teaching staff will scrutinise the results for their subjects and, if they feel that any grades are unexpectedly low or close to an upper level grade boundary, the school will consider requesting an enquiry on the result(s) concerned utilising one of the services detailed below.  Your permission will be requested to do this and depending on the reasons for the request there may be a charge for this service.

If you are personally concerned about any of your results, you should contact the Exams Officer via email (exams@woolmerhill.surrey.sch.uk) as soon as possible to discuss the best way forward. This email address will be monitored from 22nd August until 2nd September between the hours of 10am and 2pm, Monday to Friday.

It is important to note that there is no grade protection on any of the post results services. This means that the outcomes may result in a grade going down as well as up and equally there may be no change at all.

All post results services must be administered through the school, awarding bodies will not accept direct contact from candidates or their families in this process. Permission to apply for a post result service must be in writing from the candidate directly, not from a parent or carer. The services offered by the awarding bodies include:

ACCESS TO SCRIPTS

You may request a copy of your script for a particular paper on a priority service.  This would be to ascertain if you wish to proceed with or to support a Review of Marking. This service is offered free of charge. Deadline for applications to reach the Exams Officer is Tuesday 3rd September 2024.

CLERICAL RE-CHECK

This service includes a check of the exam script to ensure that all marks are accounted for, have been totalled correctly and have been recorded accurately. Deadline for applications to reach the Exams Officer is Thursday 19th September 2024.

REVIEW OF MARKING

This service is a review of the original marking by a senior examiner to ensure that the mark scheme has been applied correctly. The script will not be remarked but will be reviewed and errors found will be corrected. This service includes a clerical re-check as described above. Deadline for applications to reach the Exams Officer is Thursday 19th September 2024.

It is possible that your teachers may ask if they can order one or more of your scripts to gain information about the marking and standards, and for it to be used in future teaching and learning. In this event, your permission will be requested and you will be asked to sign a form to confirm your knowledge/approval.  In this instance there would be no charge for this service.

Please note that post results services are only available on externally marked components.

FEES

There are costs associated with most post results services. Fees, where applicable, will be payable in advance, to the school, prior to an application being made. Refunds will be made if the service results in a grade change.

Fees listed below are indicative and are subject to change.  Fees listed are per component and are for GCSE qualifications only, fees for vocational qualifications are available on request.
