Welcome to Year 10
As our students step into Key Stage 4 at Woolmer Hill, they begin an important and exciting phase of their education, embarking on their GCSE courses and preparing for the challenges of examinations. This stage brings new responsibilities, but also great opportunities for growth and achievement.
We know there will be moments of challenge, but we are here to support our students every step of the way, encouraging them to be curious, resilient learners who are kind and supportive of one another. Our core message to all Year 10 students is simple: strive to be the very best version of yourself. We believe that by being ‘Proud to Belong’ to our year group, every student can thrive.
The skills and experiences gained in Key Stage 3 have laid a strong foundation for the independence needed in Year 10. With opportunities for leadership and a chance to take part in work experience later in the academic year, this is a time to step up, explore new paths, and build confidence.
Strong partnerships between the school and parents are absolutely essential and we plan to work together to gain the best outcomes for all our students. If there is anything that we can help with, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Post 16 Options
At Woolmer Hill School we pride ourselves on supporting and guiding our students through their post-16 options. This includes sharing college information, open evening details, careers advice and information on apprenticeships. It is important to start thinking about your post-16 options now, don't leave it all until Year 11.
College open events often take place late in the summer term of Year 10 and repeat in the Autumn of Year 11. Godalming College application deadline tends to fall in October of Year 11.
