We are seeking a dynamic, inspirational and well-qualified teacher of French or Spanish to join our high performing languages department. This post would suit either an ECT teacher or an experienced teacher with a track record of excellent teaching and the ability to build good relationships with students, parents and staff.

The post holder will join a team of three hard-working and dedicated language teachers who are all passionate about their students’ success, and you will be supported by a strong leadership team who are ambitious for every individual student. We are looking for someone to teach Spanish or French to GCSE level, with the ability to also teach French and Spanish at Key Stage 3. As a school we are committed to the importance of languages in the curriculum. We have a three year Key Stage 3 curriculum and all students study a language until the end of Year 9, and we aim to encourage more and more students to continue studying a language to GCSE level.

Whilst we are seeking a teacher for 3 days per week at the current time, there is the potential for this to increase in the future.

Our teachers have excellent support from our extended Student Support Team, including the Welfare Team, Engagement Team and Learning Support team. We have a team of excellent teachers and Middle leaders across the school and our students are a delight to work with.

We are part of the Weydon Multi Academy Trust (WMAT) and the Languages teams within the schools across the trust work collaboratively with the support of the WMAT Director for Languages.

We are looking for someone who will be a team player in our high-achieving school where we challenge all students and staff to be the best they can be. We are looking for someone who will build excellent relationship with our students, parents, staff and the local community and who will enable students to achieve excellent progress in languages and who will inspire students to continue with study of a language to GCSE level.

We are an 11-16 Academy of 900 students, and have recently grown in size and are now at our maximum capacity. Our school has undergone significant refurbishment, with a new building due for completion in August 2024.

Haslemere lies in Surrey, on the border with Hampshire and West Sussex and we have excellent road and rail links to neighbouring counties. We are situated just 3 minutes’ drive off the main A3 and we are also fortunate to have a train station in Haslemere on the mainline from Portsmouth to London Waterloo. This makes us very accessible from the South Coast or outer London areas by train or car.
