Key Transition Dates for September 2026

SEPTEMBER 2026 - NEW YEAR 7

WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING OUR NEW YEAR 7S TO WOOLMER HILL SCHOOL

Some key dates for your diaries are below:

Date	Event
1st March 2026	Year 7 offers sent to parents by local authority
4th March 2026	Woolmer Hill Welcome letter sent to new Year 7 parents
13th March 2026	Deadline for parents to accept child's place at WH for September 2026
16th March 2026	Online admissions form sent to new Year 7 parents
27th March 2026	Deadline to complete the online admissions form
4th June 2026 (TBC)	Meet the Teacher event at WH for all new Year 7s and parents (held after school)
30th June 2026	New Year 7 Induction Day at WH
30th June 2026	Induction Evening for new Year 7 parents and students at WH
27th and 28th August 2026	Summer School for new Year 7 students at WH
2nd September 2026	First day of school for new Year 7s

In addition to the above, there will be visits to primary schools by Woolmer Hill staff, and additional transition events at Woolmer Hill School for some groups of students.

30/06/2026📢 Calling all New Year 7's 📢 We are delighted to be running our New Year 7 Summer School again in August. This is such a great way for students to make new friends and get to know the school before officially starting Year 7 in September! * 27th & 28th August * 8.30am - 3.30pm * £30 per child per day * Lunch is provided * Deadline to book is Monday 8th July - payment via your Arbor account.

30/06/2026Our excited new Year 7 students are receiving a warm welcome from all at Woolmer Hill today as they learn which tutor groups and Houses they will be part of for the next 5 years. So far this morning we've had getting to know each other quizzes, map exercises to find our classrooms for the day, and teamwork in the form of building a shoe tower! #ProudToBelong #ProudToAchieve

29/06/2026As our students begin to consider their post-16 pathways, 30 Year 10 students took part in a dynamic Taster Day at Alton College. This valuable opportunity allowed students to experience college-level learning across a variety of creative and professional subjects, including Drama, Art, Textiles, Film and TV, and Early Years. Experiencing these environments first-hand is crucial for helping students make informed decisions about their next steps after GCSEs. Thank you to the staff at Alton College for providing such an engaging and welcoming experience for our Year 10's

26/06/2026We couldn't be prouder of AS in Year 10 who has qualified 2nd in the UK for her sailing class, The International Cadet. This means she has been selected to represent Great Britain at this years' World Championships in Lake Garda, Italy, during the summer holidays. Huge congratulations👏 #ProudToAchieve

Two Head Students and four Deputy Head Students are chosen each year to work with and support the wider prefect team in the new academic year. This amazing group of students have been through a rigorous application process, wowing everyone involved. As they begin Year 11 in September, they will become the driving force behind the student voice at Woolmer Hill and continue to act as the wonderful role models they already are.
