19/07/2022Last day of term tomorrow - where has the year gone?
As per the letter home last Thursday students are wearing PE kit this week, including tomorrow.
We are looking forward to our awards assemblies to celebrate a great year!
See everyone tomorrow 😁
15/07/2022Over recent weeks, the Library and the RE department have collaborated to create a butterfly project with Year 9 students.
The original butterfly project was designed by the Holocaust Museum Houston (HMH) in Texas to connect a new generation of children to the 1.5 million children who perished in the Nazi era. The project was inspired by the poem The Butterfly by Pavel Friedman. Students are introduced to the poem and then create a memorial, using the motif of a butterfly, for a child who died during the Holocaust.
The project has really touched many of our students and the memorials they have created are very moving and thoughtful; really capturing the essence of what the initiative was about.
Well done, Year 9, they are truly beautiful!

15/07/2022Further to Miss Talbot's letter yesterday about the plans for next week in light of the extreme weather warnings, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone our Race for Life. A letter has been sent home today detailing plans to rearrange for the Autumn Term. This will help us raise more money for Cancer Research UK Race for Life and will enable us to include our new Year 7s in the initiative.

14/07/2022A sunny and exciting Sports Day today! ☀️
We started early, to avoid the height of the heat, with 100m sprint heats, followed by the relays and the always competitive staff tug of war and then the remaining track and field events and ‘Invasion’ games. The students enjoyed competing for their houses with everyone taking part in at least one event, it was true team spirit! Mr Lester-Smith, our commentator on the microphone, kept everyone in high spirits with his ‘sporting’ jokes and puns! Well done to the PE Department for laying on such a great event.

13/07/2022Our second hand uniform cupboard is looking very bare!
If you have a child that has grown out of any of their uniform or you are parent of a Year 11, please consider donating your old uniform and PE kit items to our little cupboard run by Mrs Ralph. We use it a lot for children who are in need so your hand me downs do not go to waste.
Please drop any items in to the Front Office marked for Mrs Ralph's attention. Thank you!
